Who We Are

Established in 1983 as a 501(c)3 non-profit organization, the Wellborn Community Center, Inc. is responsible for the management and maintenance of the Wellborn Community Center and historic Wellborn Cemetery.  Money generated by the Community Center rentals, fundraisers and donations is used for the maintenance of the Cemetery and the Center.  As stated in the Association Bylaws and in the Articles of Incorporation, excess funds are to be used for philanthropic activities.

The current Center was completed in January of 2001.  Funding for the project was achieved through a grant from the Meadows Foundation, generous donations of goods and services from our community members, and a final completion loan from a local financial institution.  The Center was beautifully updated in 2021.

A Special Place for Your Special Event

The Wellborn Community Center is a multi-functional facility, suitable for many types of events.  We can accommodate almost any special occasion or meeting.

The main meeting room is over 4,100 square feet.  The interior is tastefully finished to complement all types of events, such as weddings, receptions, reunions, parties and meetings.  A large roll-up door allows for easy access for bands or display items.

The kitchen facilities are spacious, with ample counter space and modern appliances.  An area adjacent to the kitchen is available for smaller meetings or parties that do not require the large room.

The Community Center facilities also include a 3,000 square foot covered pavilion with a concrete floor.  It is suitable for dances or other outdoor functions.

A covered barbecue grill area is available for large “cookouts”.

A playground, built and maintained by the Wellborn Lions Club, provides an area for children to play during events at the Center.
